this is the way to overcome the "hoax" news in the virtual world.
hoax is news that is not real. but, the author make it like real to make sure the readers believe with the news. so many readers are fooled by hoax news. based this case i would like to discuss about how to be smart in responding hoax news.
the first, be carefull with provocative titles. hoax news often uses provocative sensational titles. for example: directly accusing certain parties, the contents can also be taken from official media news, it's just altered to cause the perception as desired by the hoax maker. Therefore, if you encounter news with provocative titles, you should look for similar news references from the official online site, then compare the contents, are they the same or different?
the secondly, look at the site addres. Look at the site URL address. If it comes from a site that has not been verified as an official press institution. for example using a blog domain, the information is arguably dubious.According to the Press Council, in Indonesia there are around 43,000 sites in Indonesia that claim to be news portals.
Of this number, which has been verified as an official news site is not up to 300. This means that there are at least tens of thousands of sites that have the potential to spread fake news on the internet that must be watched out for.
lastly, Join an anti-hoax discussion group. In these discussion groups, netizens can join in asking whether it is hoax information or not, as well as seeing the clarification that has been given by others. All members can contribute to a group like crowdsourcing that requires a lot of people.
